With quarantine restrictions due to COVID-19, how can Uber help friends and family stay connected while being apart?
Solution
Build a new package delivery service that leverages the existing UberX network to allow loved ones to send and receive care packages on demand.
Outcome
Launched in April 2020, reaching 1M trips in the first 11 weeks. By year’s end 2020, gross bookings run rate was $100M+ across 200+ cities. Brazil was the largest initial market, followed by India, and the US.
